Snorkel with Dolphins in Kailua-Kona, Big Island of Hawaii

Imagine boating along the coastline of the Big Island of Hawaii around Kailua Kona, the morning is clear and blue skies overhead with 80 degree temperatures. Under your feet that hang off the bow of our boat, Hawaiian spinner dolphins are riding the bow wake of our boat you have chartered for the morning. As the dolphins rise and spout in front of you they may even splash you with their tails in a playful jest. Tempting you to jump in the clear warm waters of Hawaii and spend some time observing the pod in their playfulness. They will even jump out of the water doing a flip or spin on their axis up to 7 times to show off or offer a greeting.

A not-to-be-missed Hawaiian Dolphin Adventure

Your adventure to Kailua Kona, Hawaii, would not be complete if you missed out on enjoying the aquamarine life that abounds just off shore. Coral Reef Snorkel Adventures can show you wild Hawaiian dolphins— every day of the year— providing fantastic entertainment for you and your family.

All along the West coast of Kona area, there are shallow bays that the dolphins come into each morning to relax and sleep later in the morning. During the mornings while they are still active and winding down after hunting all night, they are playful and enjoy interacting with our snorkelers. The pod of Hawaiian Spinner Dolphins that we spend each day with usually has over 200 and sometimes we guess that there are close to 500 dolphins that we can snorkel with.

Also, Manta Rays, turtles, possibly a whale shark, the largest fish in the ocean and Humpback whales in the winter, and many more wonderful creatures.

In Kailua Kona area, we are on the Leeward side of the Island of Hawaii and the ocean is almost always calm in the mornings. That’s the best time to explore the coastline in our fast 27’ cabin cruiser style boat. We are able to quickly get to the dolphins in order to swim early with them before they go to sleep. And since we take only 6 passengers, you don’t have to spend time waiting in line to get on and off the boat. Also, with a small group, you can utilize the boat to pick you up quickly and move you along with the dolphins so get more dolphin time.

Coral Reef Snorkel Adventures experienced crew can help you get the most enjoyment out of the short time you have on your vacation that will remain with you a lifetime. We instruct you with proper etiquette of being in the same environment so they are not stressed in any way. We also provide information about the dolphin behavior, why they do what they do. Countless people on our charters have stated that it is even better than the helicopter ride and even go as far as to say “it’s the best thing they have ever done” So our guests are extremely satisfied with their charter with Coral Reef Snorkel Adventures. The experience they have fulfilled is way beyond their expectations.

Aside from the dolphin experience, we often find Manta Rays feeding on the surface during the daytime. If we do, you can have a chance to snorkel with these majestic creatures and watch as they feed and are being cleaned by one of the doctor fish that live on the reef.

During winter months, we also spend some time doing a whale watching. Which is the most spectacular experience you can have.

Don’t miss the boat on this activity!
